Callipo, now managed by Filippo Callipo who represents the fourth generation of the family, supported by the fifth generation, was founded in 1913 in Pizzo Calabro, a town known since ancient times for its tuna fishing. The company was the first in Calabria, and among the first in Italy, to can the highly prized Mediterranean tuna in full compliance with the strictest and most stringent food safety regulations.
The company has grown in business, has consolidated its position on the national and foreign markets, and has obtained important certifications and awards.
