Relevant industrial center, located at the foot of a picturesque hilly and mountainous setting. It is a city of ancient origins, becoming a municipality in the thirteenth century. It was the domain of the Scaligero, Visconti and of the Serenissima during which the textile manufactures continued to become, in the XIX century, the most important wool production center in the Veneto and in Italy. Currently Schio, with a population of almost 40,000 inhabitants, is the industrial and commercial "pole" of the Vicentino and is a town increasing attention to the promotion of the territory
