The knight of labor Domenico Paone, in 1878, after the union of the Kingdom of Italy, created an artisan workshop in Formia with a steam mill for the production of bread and pasta, together with a fleet of motorsailers for the transport of wheat from southern Italy. Another four generations of pasta masters have carried on the ancient tradition. On the world stage, Domenico Paone S.p.A. is the oldest pasta factory in Lazio, recognized for its high international quality standards.
