Valtellina, one of Italy’s northernmost mountain areas, is home to agrifood delicacies that have been handed down for generations, delighting palates all over the world. The area’s representative PDO and PGI products, such as Bresaola della Valtellina PGI, Bitto PDO and Valtellina Casera PDO cheeses, Valtellina Mela di Valtellina PGI apples, Pizzoccheri della Valtellina PGI, and Valtellina DOC, DOCG and IGT wines, showcase a unique food and wine tradition. All this is now represented by the Distretto Agroalimentare di Qualità della Valtellina , which brings together the Consorzi di tutela.
