Assoprol was founded in 1978 as an association bringing together local producers.
In January 2006 it became the “Organization of Olive Producers of Umbria Agricultural Cooperative Society”.
It is a Producers' Organization recognized by MIPAAF pursuant to EU Reg. 1308/2013.

Currently Assoprol Umbria has an association base of over 700 members, including farms and oil mills, representing a significant percentage of Umbria's extra virgin olive oil production
