Our history begins in the little village called Spello, in the green heart of Italy, not far from Assisi, the city of peace. We are in the post-war period, when a group of 24 enterprising olive farmers, gave birth to the Unione Cooperativa Coltivatori Diretti, today known as FRANTOIO DI SPELLO uccd.
The purpose of this initiative has been to process olives, picked solely by the members, into oil: It was 10th October 1947. Since then, many things have evolved, nowadays, the Frantoio counts over 510 members and it has its own headquarters fully operational.
