Historically produced in Felino, in the province of Parma, Salame Felino PGI is a raw and seasoned salami. It is obtained by processing muscle and adipose fractions such as the bacon head and/or the mince of the bank (undershoulder) of carefully selected pigs. It has obtained PGI certification in 2013. The Protection Consortium was born in 2011: chaired by Umberto Boschi , brings together 14 producers with approximately 500 employees, including direct workers and workers linked to related industries. The 2023 turnover was 87 million euros, with 3.5 million of labeled products.
