Parmareggio was founded in 1983 in Montecavolo di Quattro Castella, in the area Parmigiano Reggiano originated from. It is leader in the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese production and sales, with two production plants in Modena and Montecavolo in Reggio Emilia, where 600.000 wheels of Parmigiano Reggiano are processed at year. Parmareggio is one of the main butter producers in Italy, and it is leader in Italy in the butter market with its Parmareggio Butter, made with the prestigious creams coming from the dairies which produce Parmigiano Reggiano PDO cheese.
