The region is the heart of the Adriatic which includes the coast between Marina and Trogir to the northwest and the Makarska Riviera to the southwest. The largest and most important city in central Dalmatia is Split. In this region you can visit ancient remains of cities and ruins, such as the city of Salona and the Diocletian Palace. Furthermore, being in the vicinity of the sea it favors the growth of tourism in the presence of a pristine sea, beaches, inlets and islets that surround it.
