In 1858 Antonio Mattei opened his business producing the typical almond biscuits in the old town centre of Prato. His original recipe is still kept as a secret of the Pandolfini family, which inherited the old bakery in 1908. Packaged in the classic blue bag, the Prato almond biscuits – known also by the name of Cantuccini – are part of the Tuscan confectionery tradition, available also with Chocolate in the red bag and with Pistachios and Almonds in the green bag. Other traditional products are the Crispy Sweet Toasts: three different recipes, ideal for breakfast.
