Burrata di Andria IGP is a cheese made with cow’s milk.
The casing consists exclusively of stretched curd and inside there is a mixture of cream and curd stretched by hand.
In 2016 the burrata of Andria obtained the recognition of a product with mark of origin, becoming officially Protected Geographical Indication (I.G.P.)
For this reason, the Consorzio Tutela Burrata di Andria I.G.P. was established on 17 February 2017. with the aim of protecting, enhancing and promoting the true burrata of Andria.
